PS3 Wrap up
So the conference is over. My final thoughts are that the lineup, while pretty uninteresting, still has some strong titles like Metal gear which could possibly be better than the 360's current lineup.I came across a post on the PA forums about the new controller and till I saw a closeup I never realised how much it seemed to be stolen.
Look at the 4 little boxes, look similar to something? The jewel in the center of the pad looks familiar too. Along with the L2 and R2 being triggers now this pad feels like some sort of Frankinstein pad.
Let me set things straight. I'm all for the advance of technology and I don't really mind if something were to copy another company because they do it all the time. The problem with this pad is that they look like they have copied things that haven't even been released yet. This isn't the same as going "oh this product is doing really well, we should adapt it" they just look like they're stealing ideas. Not only that but the motion sensor feels tacked on at the last minute. Not only that but Sony has a bit more "street cred" than Nintendo and I'm worried about hearing idiots saying things like "Nintendo stole Sony's idea" just like the idiots that say the PS2 is more powerful than the Gamecube.
Another thing that's got me worried is the games. They're going to be blu-ray and that means they're going to cost god knows how much. I'm guessing something insane like $60-$70. That's almost one hundred dollars. In the end people are still going to lap this up and people are still going to be outraged. But until I see a more solid lineup of games than just Metal Gear and Heavenly Sword it looks like this will be another PS2 affair with me, waiting for the price to drop dramatically over 2-3 years.
